Drumming Live with Nine Inch Nails

FIgured it's about time to finally post something that related to drums and music seeing that everything I've ever posted is just a bunch of craziness really. I loved playing with NIN and the last month I was on tour with them decided to throw up a couple of FLIP cameras, get a live mix from the board that night of a few songs (thanks Pete) and one day I'd get around to messing around with them on my lap-top. Well, the Lights In The Sky fan video that just came out was great and inspired me to put this one up for the drummers that have ever asked me to post drum-related stuff (and anyone else interested.) Try and get through the first half because the 2nd half is pretty kick ass! I'm proud of my involvement with NIN and to stay I enjoyed doing this every night would be an understatement. -Josh

Insane MS Paint Picture Took Man Four Years to Complete

MS Paint aficionado scorpiongold (his YouTube account name) spent four years creating this "masterpiece." At 2.5mx2.3m, it's more than a mere painting—it's an entire world, filled with fanciful whimsy and magical characters. Did I mention it took four years?

Stay tuned!

I haven't been able to post much here lately because we're still fighting off the Chinese Internet Invasion here at work so my days have been completely swamped. I haven't forgotten about my new little project here though.

Beyonce + The Andy Griffith Show

Today, I was browsing through my Google Reader articles for the past three or four days (I fell behind because of a hectic week of work) and I ran across a link to a mashup video someone did of Single Ladies by Beyonce and The Andy Griffith Show theme song.

There's a few inconsistencies with the audio editing, but its very forgivable.

Cute Things Exploding

Cute Things Exploding is a YouTube group that features popular cute animal videos from the web, edited to have the subject of the video blown up in a bloody and humorous way. Definitely a guilty pleasure kind of website because you have to have a somewhat sick sense of humor to find amusement in watching cute furry things blow up ;)

Google Admits To Being Hacked By Chinese Government

Like many other well-known organizations, we face cyber attacks of varying degrees on a regular basis. In mid-December, we detected a highly sophisticated and targeted attack on our corporate infrastructure originating from China that resulted in the theft of intellectual property from Google. However, it soon became clear that what at first appeared to be solely a security incident--albeit a significant one--was something quite different.

First, this attack was not just on Google. As part of our investigation we have discovered that at least twenty other large companies from a wide range of businesses--including the Internet, finance, technology, media and chemical sectors--have been similarly targeted. We are currently in the process of notifying those companies, and we are also working with the relevant U.S. authorities.

DJ Earworm - United State of Pop 2009

On January 11, I was directed to a megamix mashup of popular songs of 2009, mixed by DJ Earworm. I don't really like pop songs all that much, but I was very impressed with the technical skill the editor had and the ingenious way he mixed various bits from all of the songs together to create a brand new song.

Google releases Nexus One smartphone

On January 5, Google released the official Google phone, called Nexus One.

The device is manufactured by HTC, runs the Android mobile operating system, and is sold directly by Google for use on the T-Mobile and AT&T GSM networks.

If you use it on the T-Mobile network, you get EDGE and 3G speeds. If you use it on the AT&T network, you only get EDGE speeds because AT&T's 3G network uses a GSM radio frequency that the phone hardware does not support.

This phone differs from all the Android smartphones released before it because Google considers it to be the only official Google phone to date.
